This is my Americana Quilt, wich I finished a while ago.. well the top is finished. I also have the backing fabric, not cut yet.
The last time I quilt with my "normal" sewing machine I almost broke my back, my hands and my sewing machine. It's just not build for this kind of work, and the outcome is not really good most of the times either. Lots of wrinkels and there is no way to make a nice quiltpattern on it.
so I do have two options. Either I do handquilting or I give the Quilt to a Quilting service. Well the handquilting is not really an option, if I want to be done in this life. So I checked out some Quilting services here in town. I respect other peoples work and I understand the price what they are asking.. but wohhhoo it's quite a lot. I don't think it's over priced, but I wonder if it's worth it, just because it's kind of a simple quilt. On the other hand it was work, my work and I don't want to mess it up, by doing the quilting again on my own.
And I want to try out the quilting service and how it will turn out, because I'm planning a queen size quilt for our bedroom and this is gonna be very fancy and I want definetly the quilting done by a professional for this one.
So should I do suck it up and spend the money or not??
