extra fleissig

Today was the Veteran's Day Parade in Colorado Springs. We went to see Chris marching there.

The Kids had fun to see the Parade and wave their flags.
At home I finished a couple projects and also (of course started a new one). Here first the finished stuff: Some Pillowcases, I think they gonna be christmas presents and birthday presents for some little girls in the family. For my tractor friend Benny a Pillowcase. the John Deere Fabric is a flannel and I found it as a scrap piece at Joann's. I'm working for a while on this. It was suppose to be a baby quilt, but it's just growing and growin.. I used a half yard of fabric for the middle and then just sewed around with a honey bun and a jelly roll alternating. Pretty easy and pretty fun. The Fabric I used is from Moda called "make life".
I'm still on the Adventcalendar for the kids. And now after finally buying "good" thread I can sew and embroider at the same time and it's actually fun.. I made two more today and the way it looks, I might be able to finish it in time.

And last but not leas my new project. As everybody else who's sewing, I have a lot of scraps... A LOT.. too big to throw away.. too small to actually make something out of it.. until now:
I found this wonderful blog. And fell in love with all the scrappy ideas.. I always loved the wonky blogs, but I really never made one.. I read through this tutorial . And started digging through my scraps.. and it's so much fun.. no measuring (till the end) just sewing and enjoying all these fabrics..

I'm hooked... even though I should work on christmas presents.. I just want to do scrappy wonky blocks..
